super tuesday
Well, it's that time again. Time to go to your local polling place and vote for the candidate that you find the least repulsive. To help you along in your decision, I give you the Human Rights Campaign's 2004 Presidential Questionaire. It's actually informative.
As for my vote, I've decided that it is a near certainty that Kerry will take the NY primary, so I am going to take this opportunity to vote against him while I can do the least amount of damage to the effort to remove Bush from the White House. Assuming that Kerry will win the candidacy, I will vote for him (or Edwards, if things go that way) in the general election in November, but for now, I am planning on voting for Kucinich. He is completely in favor of same-sex civil marriages, unlike Kerry and Edwards. (Sharpton also supports same-sex marriages but his responses to almost everything are just too vague for my comfort.) Kucinich is in favor of repealing DOMA and co-sponsored the Domestic Partnership Benefits and Obligations Act of 2003, a bill to provide federal benefits to domestic partners of Federal employees. He is also in favor of legislation to protect individuals from discrimination based on gender identity/expression. All of the other candidates are vague or opposed on this issue. That's all. Now go out and vote! Even if you think it doesn't matter and your vote won't make a difference!
